I am very interested in the study of Taiji. I am a 5th dan in Tae Kwon Do and have been practicing for aprox. 23 years. I understand and fully respect the need for a qualified instructor. Currently I am practicing on my own and have been studying Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming's Classical Yang Style. Because of my experience,(I also have BB in Hapkido) I seem to be drawn to this Classical Yang Style (emphasis on martial application). There is a difference when compared to other Yang long forms that I have seen. Other forms seem to be more flowing and rhythmical. I would appreciate any thoughts on the the different yang long forms.

Learning Tai Chi might be tricky after 23 years of TKD. You probably haven't had to think about how to throw a punch in a long time. You don't throw a Tai Chi punch the same way you do in TKD.

People used to say that playing raquetball screws up your tennis game. Same thing might happen here, but then again you've been doing MA's a lot longer than me, so who knows.....
