I have a 'like new' Leatherman SuperTool 200 with leather sheath. Sheath has a scratch on the side. I'd like to trade for an Emerson Hard Wear Knife in plain edge, any model. My Leatherman tool has never, ever been used.

If I were you I would sell that tool and save up a few more dollars and buy a Spyderco Native III for around 50.00 than waste that money on an Emerson Hard Wear knife. I've had one of the Hard Wear Endeavors and I can tell you it's not worth the $$. The Native blows it away in construction, steel quality (the Em's are AUS-8, the Native is S30V), and durability. I like Emerson knives(one of my regular EDC's is a CQC7-A), but the Hard Wear line falls far short of ususal Emerson quality.

Actually the Native III's are VG-10... I personally don't think that the Emerson Hard Wears are that bad.. They are almost identical to the Spyderco lightweight lines in quality. The only difference it they use AUS-8 steel... They're made in Seki-City just like the spydies, I wouldn't be surprised if they came out of the same factory as the Enduras. But if you';re looking for the build of a Specwar or a CQC-7 in the hardwear line, then you'll be disappointed. To me they seem like Spyderco knock-offs.... with the hole and everything
