Greetings all,

I've been dabbling with knife making for many years and now it's time to get serious. I am about ready to buy a professional grade belt grinder but would like to hear from others.

My budget for this item is around $2000

I am currenntly leaning Toward a Wilton square wheel variable speed. I plan on doing both flat and hollow grind. I am particularly interesedted in hearing from those with experience with this unit, and the following, which I am also considering Bader and Burr King.

Please let me know your opinions and why you favor a particular model.

Thanks very much.

Let me suggest you look into the KMG at http://beaumontmetalworks.com/ A search for it in the 'Shop Talk' forum at bladeforums.com will give you some more info. You can option it nicely (2 HP, VS) with your budget. Alas, it's way beyond my budget - I'd be happy with a Coote but can't even afford the Grizzly.
