But many of them cannot fight a good karateka, because the silat practitioners do not do much physical conditioning. Remember 'Fighting Black Kings' that documentary about Kyukushinkai Karate tournaments, where the karate people almost killed the Malaysian silat people in just the first minute of each fight. Stretcher time. That, and also a Arab 'karatay' guy who was also taken out on a stretcher. Don't trust your Jinn so much, he may not be in the mood to fight for you that day.

Silat is not what you think it is and real silat is not sport based like MMA. Silat is an art that is ussually passed from family to family memebers and it is use for survival and warfare not sport. Look into a man name William De Thouars and you will surprice in what you say and speak about Silat.

Nonsense!

Having studied both, I can tell you that real silat has much more intensive conditioning than most karate!

Unfortunately you are basing your opinion on a larger silat schools or silat tanding rather than true village silat. Or maybe you have seen silat pulut on youtube and cannot distinguish between performance and fighting?

Why don't you check out Richard de Bordes, Willem de Thuors, Steven Plink etc. for 'Western' persilat? You will never see most Indonesian Pendekar.

And just out of interest how are most people on Earth murdered? Not by a point sparring match, or an armbar.

No. It's by a common kitchen knife. And Indonesian and Filipino martial arts are by far the most advanced arts for knife defence. No other arts come anywhere near.
