Received the de Thouars Tape!

I watched the tape again with some buddies and its very obvious that the 'friendly visit' stuff is a hoax. I am bothered by the lie, since my inclination is to side with Mr. deThouars. (My half-brother studied with him, let me say up front)

I think its this kind of BS that makes me want to dissociate from Mr. Miller's crowd. It is obvious who the 'bad guys' are.

Regardless of anything else, this sort of thing is sad to hear. Where is honor and integrity if it is not in a man's word?

The reason I'm writing is I wanted to comment again how absurd this all is. Mr. deThouars has apparently admitted that his Silat really has no tai chi in it, so everything that has been posted about tai chi, thaikek, etc, is bogus. I remember reading the arguments between Chas and Mr. Sigman and now I see them as a complete and false waste of time for everyone. Why did they ever happen? Someone from Mr. deThouars' group should at least explain rather than let this embarrassed silence fester and the misunderstandings grow.

And Chas, I know your venom is a reaction, but surely you can see you've won and that its pointless to keep flogging the horse? There needs to be a way to put this to rest. Right now nobody on the outside would ever recommend someone study with the deThouars or anyone associated with them and that would not be fair. There is so much in the martial arts that is contained in Silat and I hate to see it go to waste because of a simple mistake no one has the nerve to put the lid on.

Like I've said, it was obvious they came in with the idea of it going to a fight. Unfortunately, Miller didn't swing. The really interesting side thought about these clowns sending the tape around is that it only shows 3 things: Miller didn't take the poke; what he does is not Taiji; he's so poor at Taiji that he doesn't even realize how bad the tape makes him look. Even a couple of his friends have commented that they're embarrassed by what Miller calls Taiji after seeing the tape.

I haven't seen the tape yet, but it's interesting how close Willem deThouars is to getting a few suits nailed to him for slander, how he's avoided paying income tax, etc., etc..... for someone 'afraid of the government' he sure brings a lot on himself.

Hello Mike & All, It is a dirty rotten shame that so much controversy has become attached to Willem. All he is trying to do is make a living. He has obviously made some poor choices about his *friends* - but, I really don't think that he is entirely to blame. He is NOT a business man, he is NOT a promoter, nor a salesman - therefore, of necessity, he must surround himself with those who fill such roles. I think you can look at the situation he is now in - with all the civil and criminal liability attached - and easily discern WHO deserves the blame and incrimination for each of the monumental problems Willem is now facing.

Why doesn't someone step on up and accept responsibility? The days of Chas and I doing that are over.

As the tapes were sent with the envolope and mailing label from the Law firm, with the work 'Brockman' hand written on the Law office return

His wife, Kathleen, is their only source of income and works at Sherman & Howard- if rumor be true. Roger doesn't work outside of a sheltered environment- if the other rumor be true.

The ethical questions of the slander are not even the most compelling of the questions raised- questions of the involvement with a witness for the opposition, lawyers involved in questionable acts, failure to supervise, 'failure to rise to the most minimal standard of professional conduct', etc. Icky poo-

It *started* ugly- Mike Sigman didn't pick a fight, Steve didn't pick a fight, I didn't pick a fight- this has been foisted on Steve and I for one or more reasons- against Mike for another. Mike and Miller had a history going back before either of them heard or or met Willem- that gave Miller an agenda at the Atlanta thing- I don't have *any idea* why they tacked on a year and a half old vid about me and Steve- that's really stupid. Why they dragged Mike into our question I wouldn't know either. This can't be good for much of anyone. They'll probably fire Mrs. Brockman over it, or at least censure her in some manner- she certainly could not have countenanced this except to placate her husband. I don't think they thought this through (geez, understatement)
