I was at BushidoKai in the mid-1970s. I remember Yoshiaki Harrada (or Harrada san as we called him). He was a godan, former captain of the University of Tokyo Judo team, was a student at Tufts U. studying law at the time, and only used Hani-goshi. He was out of Judo for two years yet still threw sandan Jimmy Pedro around at will. Mr. Harrada increased the level of Judo by ten fold at Bushido-Kai. Brian Fitzpatrick (Coast Guard) took us to a Shiai at Newport R.I. run by the Marines. Harrada san took first place (I took third). Really a good tournament with good people.
