I thought I had the problem licked...

Remember when I told you all I had this problem with ebay and a guy not sending me my winning items? I won on sept 12. I called and gave him my credit card by phone because his webpage wouldn't accept it because I am in Canada. So I give him all I need. Then I wait and a month goes by. No answer to my e-mails or calls or anything, plus I am not billed. Finally I had to give him a bad review on ebay. Then he decided to contact me to tell me he couldn't get my credit card to work. I call visa and they say it's no problem and in fact he never tried to use it. So I call him back. he says, no problem. Send me a money order and I will ship them out. Wanting to believe the best I sent him the money order. It went out Oct 16. I'm all excited and happy that the problem was worked out So now it's November. I have no knives. He isn't responding to e-mails or calls. Why? WHY? Why was I so trusting? This is like the first time on ebay I have had something crappy happen. Anyway, just to let you all know, www.kaploo.com ripped me off for about $30.00. After conversion it's a bit more but I think I'm more pissed off that this guy has been so shabby with his responses and customer service. I have to give him a thumbs down.

Hmm.. can't reach that site. The knives may still be on the way... assuming he's located in the US, its only been just over 2 weeks since he's received payment. But i dont wanna get ur hopes up...

I'm about to do a trade with some people on Bladeforums.. how do you check for referrences with people?.. i mean.. as much as i want to blindly trust someone and sent them 3-4 knives in the mail, i do want to get the item i traded for...

Anyone have any input?

The way to check 'references' is to check out the 'Good, Bad and Ugly' Forum on BladeForums to see what experiences others have had with the individual you're about to do a trade with. If others have had good luck you you likely will also. On the other hand, if there are examples of poor trades or the person has no record of trading with Forum members, caution would be

I hope so, I know what it's like to have knives go missing. I think I'm the king of jinx when it comes to knives getting lost! I HATE that, nothing more annoying. I remember I waited a while and as I had finally given up it came, it wasn't anything expensive and has been at least a year ago. SPECOPS. P.S. Good luck.

At first, I just compared the two, and remarked about the differences in the Splash handles. I wondered if I had one of those coveted 'First Production Run' models, or it the brightest one would end up worth more, in the long run.

I fondled them both a lot, even shaved my bald head with both of them, (one in each hand), and tried to figure out how to conceal one, while wearing the other in nearly-plain-view, clipped on/in various blue-jeans pockets, sox, shoes, and even my wallet, (I always need a reminder to clean that darned thing out
