How many 9th degree karate black belts

Hi,

I'm doing a 2nd grade research project. I'm trying to find out how many people in the whole world have 9th degree black belts in karate.

Does any one know, or know where to look for this information?

C'mon She said it was for a 2'nd grade project either give it to her or keep quiet. If you indeed have such information which I really have doubts about.

Hi Emmy- Because there are a lot of karate styles, and each of them ranks differently, the actual number of 9th Degree Black Belts is probably unknown and there is no place that will have that information for sure. There are, very probably, less than 20 from traditional styles. If you include all the modern eclectic and syncretic styles, there are probably no more than another 20 or so that would try to stand up amongst a group of good martial artists and wear that ranking in front of them.
