An interesting question. I know a woman who is the same height and looks to be the same build as I am but outweighs me by more than 40 pounds (140 vs180lbs). She is just incredibly dense (and strong). It must be genetics.

You grab her for randori and you just don't believe it.

It comes down to the old saying muscle weighs more than fat. Now you may say that is something your mom told you to make yourself feel better believe me mine did! lol But it is true it also has to do with how the weight is proportioned. I will use myself for example I am 6'1 and right around 280 but everyone including my instructors thought I was around 235-245. Alot of my weight of course is upper body but I hide alot of it in my legs. I know alot of people that hide the weight in their legs, this works most of the time because when one is eye weighted alot of times they look at your upperbody. Hope this helps, just my 2 cents!

Before you buy.

Or you've been playing with that little wheel on the top of your bathroom scale again.
