All,
I hate wearing a cup. They are uncomfortable, they creep, and they restrict movement. I have become emotionally attaced to my testicles, however, and I do not wish to loose them.
It has always seemed strange to me that the same variety of cup is sold for every sport known to man, even though different sports require different ranges of movement.
One guy in my class wears 'external' protection that goes on the outside of his gi. I have not tried this kind, but it would be nice to just put protection on when I am planning on fighting that night.
Do you all have any suggestions? I don't want to cut my balls off just to be a better fighter. I do mostly stand-up, but I grapple some as well.

I assume you have an internal box at the moment, have you tried wearing two pairs of jocks and then put the box in the middle?

I don't use cups anyway. Get yourself the videotape 'Balls of Steel'. From the same people who did 'Buns of Steel' and 'Abs of Steel'. Worked wonders for me. I had a guy stub his toe on my right nut last night. He was not able to continue, I'm not sure he'll be ready to go monday.
But seriously, I don't use a cup, learn to protect yourself, or learn to deal with the pain. Perhaps just a jock would help. It don't protect yer boyz like a cup, but at least it packs them up out of the way so they're not slappin up against yer leg etc...

Nope, not in my experience.
Yep, if you don't mind shuffling around a bit in class.

By jocks I mean normal undies, not jockstraps and not boxers. Just in case. Also there are special pants that people wear when they play cricket, I assume they have them in other sports too, where there is a little pouch in the front to put your box in.

There was this one guy that use to showup at the club here in town who use to wear a jock......not sure why.......seemed rather silly............down right strange now that I think about it but that could explain all the jokes at his expense. Use to wear knee pads too.......whats that about. I understand using them on your shins and ankles but why the knees.
He was freak anyway
