i have recently started reading material in this section . i have noticed your name come up allot , can you tell me a bit about yourself ( please don't be too sarcastic , as im generally interested ) what style you practice , do you teach ' do you hold seminars , are you from GB or are you from america . are there any videos out with you in fighting ? do you ever come to GB preferably Wales to take seminars ?

sorry for all these questions , but you seem like quite a character , just by reading your comments and what other people say about you .

i genuinely am interested in martial arts but am just one of those martial artist that love training , but will never be any good but enjoy it anyway . i've trained in WADO ryu for 12 years with shian Unel Wellington ( have you ever heard of him ? ) in which i've graded to 3rd dan .

also for the last 2 and a half years i've been training with shian Billy Doaks in Goshi Ju jitsu . of which i love this style of fighting .

Isn't Gi's real name something Mahoney? And was not that a character played by Steve Guttenberg on that film 'Police Academy'? I wonder if this was based on Gi's life? When Law enforcement turns you down you join the MMA. I guess that guy who did his own Bruce Lee sound effects on Police Academy was Gi's role model for taking up martial arts? You know they have to lip synch to the 'Enter the Dragon' sound track in MMA fights, so that's why they choke each other so much!

I am not a phno, so I wont act all impressed by some karate kicking fool, but as you said, his was a pro-Gichoke post, so I opted to be just a tad didactic, rather than truely harsh.

Well,

I like the fact that a BJJ school can teach sport, which applies to NHB, and can teach a nHB class, which enhanced sport AND streetfighting. I also do alot of boxing and thai stuff, and still teach a lot of the infighting that I learned in JUN FAN and Kenpo. That is great stuff, easily adaptable, and melds well with BJJ. But, it isn't BJJ, and I know that. I don't think it takes away from BJJ, I think it fills in some holes. I also teach alot of Judo, and a great deal of wrestling. Again, not BJJ, but enhancing it nonetheless.

I only think you are degrading the style if you cut things out just because you, personally, don't like them. I try to learn everything I can about BJJ, even if I wouldn't use it, because I feel responsible for teaching it all to my students so they can choose what they like.

Does any of that make sense?
