fight club

Hi,

A question for people who have seen a lot of no-rules fighting. How authentic does the 'Fight Club' look?

I mean there's was not a whole lot of knee and groin kicking that one would expect, while there were lots of fist-to-head punches without the striker hurting his hands (like in that scene where the main character beates up the blond guy)

What do you think?

You should watch the movie again.

In one scene Tyler is is repeatedly groin punching his opponent. The 'Narrator' (Ed Norton) and Tyler have their knuckles split open in dozens of shots. They are washing the blood and dirt off of their hands in at least one scene as well.

As to why you aren't seeing a lot of kicking in the movie, it's because these people weren't martial artists. They were playing average schmucks.

'Fight Club' was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

Geez, how many times do I have to tell you? Rule #1: don't talk about Fight Club.

Just for that, I am going to kick your ass on Saturday. Not that I'll be seeing you on Saturday. Certainly not at a Fight Club or anything like that. Really.

I agree, enough so that i bought the DVD. It's awesome. I like it because it is an original concept. You think it's gonna go one way but realize that everything you thought was wrong. Then you get to look back and go OH YEAH!!!!!

Is your DVD messed up? I mean towards the beginning of the third quarter or the movie, the sound track gets really off. I can't tell if this was intentional, if this was a flaw with this single DVD or it there was some kind of factory defect.

yeah where marla is gonna kill herself you mean. It screws up about 1 in 10 times for me. I just back it up a few frames and it plays fine for me. There is one other spot where mine pauses for a tiny second and then goes on, i noticed my player goes into search mode and back out in that time. have no idea why

All in all, the X-men is more realistic.

Nah, I have a sony dvd player set up on the ole tv....

Personally I felt it was a great story that delved into the psychosis of a man tortured by his own mind. I would have called the movie, 'Schizophrenia & Saop' though, 'cept it had no ring to it,
