Greetings from colourful Colorado!

Last night some friends and I gathered around the new video for a premier viewing. Before I state my opinions, you must all know that I filmed and produced the video, so there IS some bias on my part.

Chas is undeniably unique. His personal martial art is likewise unique. Chas is also a down-to-earth what-you-see-is-what-you-get type of person. This particular video joins Chas in several discussions over the years relating to defense tactics of the elderly and unfirm and reveals the eloquence, charm, charisma and scathing humor that characterizes Chas Clements. It also hints at his terrible martial talent latent in this low-key presentation of Cane techniques for those who may actually need the knowledge due to accident or infirmity.

There is almost two hours of pure Chas for your information and viewing pleasure. Those who follow Rec.Martial-Arts will find no surprises here. Those unfamiliar with Chas' *on-line personna* will surely have a double-take or two because of the frank and open manner with which Chas approaches this topic.

Although the point of the video is directed to the *physically challenged,* there is a plethora of solid self preservation techniques and tactics that all martial artists will find valuable.

The line-up of cane types and styles reflects a substantial financial investment and the savvy and business acumen to accumulate such a collection. Chas spends money on his *tools* - his collections of knives, canes and specialty tools is impressive indeed.

Martial arts instructors should take note of the principles of self preservation that Chas addresses herein. It is a shame that this sort of *basic* awareness is not commonly taught in martial classes.

Besides the information offered, Chas performs many motion drills and practice forms that are easily replicated by most anyone and incredibly effective in self defense application.

Chas' Birthday is tomorrow; so ThunderRock's new video series begins with American KunTao Silat's eldest practitioner as a sort of tribute to a man who has dedicated MOST of his life to martial endeavour - and it shows! Happy Birthday Chas.

Any one who cares to order can call Chas at home: 303-364-0403 or order

Thank you all, Steve Gartin
