Hi,

Any ideas on the best way to imprve my grappling.

Obviously it get's a little better with practice but there are great moves that some of the more senior grades do at the club and I wondered where I can find resources on grappling techniques.

(At the moment I am having to resort to eye and windpipe gauging which works but locks and stuff can be more fun from time to time!).

There are only one way to go actually;

Go through EVERY technique you can find, buy books on the subject. And then go through everything you find and test every single one of them. If it doesn't feel good or doesn't works, forget it. If it feels just right, use it.

Then you get on the mat and you roll around like youv'e never rolled before

But sure, a good instructor will help...

A good tip is to NOT always go for submissions. Get your partner to agree just to go for submissions and then let them go. Also, if you are holding a position, let your opponent go (tell him how to get out if you can).

You will find your general sparring improves this way.

As you are in the UK, the best way to improve is obviously to train with a good instructor. Try here www.gracie.org.uk
